The company and sauce’s unique name, Jenira (pronounced JEN-EYE-RUH), comes from combining owner’s Jennifer & Ira Rounsaville’s names together. Ira, a self-taught recreational cook, always worked to impress his wife with his cooking in the early days of their relationship. Anything with chicken became his specialty. They found that they both really enjoyed “hot wings” but wanted something more than the traditional flavor of a hot wing recipe. They also enjoyed barbecue and Ira often found himself “doctoring up” sauces he bought at the market. Ira was in search of deeper flavors, a sauce with more "body" and all the ingredients and flavor in one bottle. He wanted something that would make your taste buds dance and go on everything. He wanted to create the one-stop-shop of sauces, not just for wings or barbecue, but an all-purpose sauce!

Thus, the journey began and Jenira Sauce was born. What started off as a wing sauce, and a way to keep his wife’s attention, has turned into a passion to bring flavor to the food market with an “everything” or all-purpose sauce. After family and friends raved about their sauce, Ira & Jennifer knew they had a great tasting and unique product, so they decided to become entrepreneurs. In May 2005, Ira & Jennifer officially became founders of Jenira's Famous, Inc., and their unique sauce with the unique name was introduced: Jenira Sauce – Mild, Medium & Hot.



Jenira Mild Sauce is the sweetest of the three with full of spices and a nice balance of bold flavor.

Jenira Medium Sauce is the original recipe. It has a nice kick of spicy heat right "in the middle", with a nice balance of sweetness, and that unmistakable Jenira flavor. 

Jenira Hot Sauce is the least sweet of the three. It starts with a subtle hint of heat and progressively opens up to a "warm embrace".
